A flavour in the mouth.
This delicate perfume
Arises and fills the space,
Like an harmonious song
Coming from the celestial spheres.
This flavour contains in itself
The whole Universe.
The chain at its origin
Includes water, earth,
Air, fire and space.
Each of the steps,
From the germination of the seed,
Its cultivation, growing,
Sprouting, flowering,
Fructifying and harvesting,
Is sanctified by the
Awareness and Presence
Of all caretakers.
The farmer, if he is conscious,
Knows the rhythm of nature.
He lives with it,
And allows his family
To live from it.
His love penetrates
And nourishes the fruit
Which will transmit
This love to the one
Who will taste its flavour.
This is also true for the coffee,
A bean which concentrates
And symbolizes
Strength and awakening.
Its aroma, flavour,
Form and colour,
All express the beauty
Of the Universe
In its creative forces.
To honestly remunerate
All the actors
Of this chain
Is like paying
Homage to life.
May we celebrate,
Through a sensitive awareness
Of the world of trade and matter,
The joy and splendour
Of the Divine Creation.

dear wolfie, thank you again for your kind support and beautiful sharing. your story has the perfume of the indian goddess, lakshmi, queen of the abundance. abundance is also a beautiful thing to integrate at all levels of our being and life.

profound
When I truly understood the universe was when, as a young bride, I puchased a seeded pot of tomato seeds. You tended them on the windowsill until the plants were ready to go outside. It was called, "Punch and Grow". I was the laughing stock of the family. But determined soul that I am, I continued nurturing these plants, planted them in the garden and was overflowing with tomatoes all summer. Every person who laughed got enough tomatoes to swim in. As I watched those seeds grow, the universal concept slipped into my being. From one miniscule seed came a bounty... each of us is a seed nurtured in the universal garden.
Your work inspires me.

dear rod, thank you very much for your kind appreciation of such a particular way that love takes for creating forms to be enjoyed. yes, it is both strange and amazing to see that we can start from the small for merging into the whole. thank you also for your good wishes. i wish you also the most marvelous expansion.

dear presence (a really beautiful name!), thank you very much for your kind and insightful comment. i should say that i never wrote on such topics, but one of these last evenings, marion asked me to do it. as i cannot refuse her anything, words started to come and flow. yes, as you took note, it is an homage to the manifested from the point of view of the unmanifested. both are celebrated as one functional unit. the nature of joy is such that it enjoys itself as much as the whole creation. with kindest wishes and reverence to the timeless presence.

This is a beautiful meditation on the Oneness of all Being, a pointer to the depth of true mindfulness, in knowing the parallel existence of Life and living lovingly contained withing the fruits of sequential time. Beautiful!
Peace, Love, Light and Harmony, Rod -
There is a depth of insight into the nature of all creation in this write. In all the lives that are unflolding within this sacred dreams - few take the time to smell the roses... much less the coffee. One who can not only enjoy the senses, but see into the experience from the unmanifested to manifested with all that that entails - well... THAT is a joy to run accross!
Blessed Poet, You have captured my eyes with this work. Your vision and degree of presence is refreshing. It is more than a recognition of the taste of the universe, but also to hear You speak such words is the Universe ItSelf pondering and enjoying the experience of ItSelf. How wondrous!!
Of course, "I" am just the Universe enjoying how I taste as described through that part of "me" that is "you.") -
no problem, ea. i will let the writing in the contest.

dear ea, thank you for your kind comment. yes, i will soon send you a bio by im. and thank you also for having offered an opportunity to express ourselves on a really unusual topic. i would admit that speaking about truth or reality looks easier for me than writing about fair trade and coffee. so it was an excellent exercise to see that an understanding concerning self-knowledge can also be applied to a large range of human, vegetal and social topics!
-
thank you very much, charisma, for your comment and support. yes, it is strange to constate that starting from a simple sensation, we can go back to the whole universe.
-
I enjoyed this very much. Please send me an author bio by IM and remember, as per the contest notes, to spice it up, because I want really interesting author bios...
-
