William, my father

Even with all those years that we were apart

You was that sensible, beating rhythm in my heart

And with those bright stars high up in the sky

They can still remind me of those days of you and I

For Bill, you wasn't just my Father, you was also my Best Friend

This love in my heart for you will never end

I will always have those memories of us two in the park

Acting like silly children, doing crazy things just for the lark

Sitting upon those too small for us swings

We'd drive each other stupid with our attempts to sing

Those silly little crazy nursery rhymes

Which took us back to my happy childhood times

Author notes

THIS POEM IS DEDICATED TO MY FATHER FOR FATHER'S DAY WHO PASSED AWAY LAST NOVEMBER FROM CANCER. I HAVEN'T QUITE FINISHED IT YET.

    Hi Shaz,
Since you were kind to visit me, I wanted to return the favor. This poem worked fine for my reading. Since you are still in the process of perfecting, I'll see it again but I've enjoyed what you've written thus far. Happy writing!
