breathe in the sweet aroma
such a strong recognisable scent
whether black or white
with sugar or without
its sure to enhance your day
take a sip
feel the warmth glide down your throat
whether latte or mocha
cappuccino or espresso
you'll survive to the end of the day
then night time comes
your not very tired
sit patiently waiting
for the kettle to boil
to satisfy your upcoming addiction
coffee... the only way to survive the day

I won't be using this in the anthology simply because it is too similar to another poem that I have already accepted. Feel free to write something new that approaches coffee from a very unique or quirky perspecive, maybe not even as the poem's actual theme but somehow mentioning coffee.
Please keep in mind the contest note suggestion, as well: "I want you to include some coffee story or mention of your favorite coffee joint (hole-in-the-wall) to spice the bio section up. Maybe mention where you do readings? In fact *you should put your story in your author's notes* NOW to boost your chances of having your poem included. Because I want really interesting author bios!" Thank you. -
thanx a lot ill change it rite away! cheers

LOL, this made me smile because I have recently cut down on my coffee but I do find it very addictive and stimulating. I noticed one spelling mistake - late for latte in the second stanza. You've covered up cofee well, the aroma, colour, taste and desire for it, I see it all here.
Best of luck,
Charishma
