Tributes are a part of the fabric of AP.
They come in many languages and cross many international boundaries.
We will all give tributes and will all received tributes
if we are here long enough...
Here is an example of a tribute crossing international and language boundaries,
to me from Zonia:

It looks beautiful, doesn't it? But the translation is key and critical...
so allow me to introduce my patented do-it-yourself 'Similar to English' method of translation:
A little present:
Wayne, you are a child Neanderthal with no learning,
all can see you are a mischievous well-meated Holland chicken
and a pigpen warden, so like a grog of chop suey.
If ye be vulgar, I want you to bend over and give me ten!
(more than anything you are a person who is bent).
Well, I am sure that is endearing talk in Dutch!

Now, I thought my translation method gave the true content,
but Leander, being fluent in the language,
came up with a different translation:
A little present:
Wayne, I won't oblige you to learn Dutch,
even though you would be able to understand and appreciate
my Dutch poems, like I'd love to see it.
I keep on following you, cause to me you're a ten!
(but then especially for the person you are)
I don't know...
I guess I'll leave the final judgement to the readers!

LOL. Although it wasn't the real translation, I liked the first one better... Much more amusing. But my cousin (who is fluent in Dutch) says that the 2nd one is the right one... I wish it weren't so, its not nearly as amusing.

So, AlbaSoul, a translation challenge!
"ti je nje njeri shumė i veēant, sigurisht. faleminderit qė po tregon bukurin e kesaj faqeje me punėn tėnde."
Well, using my patented 'similar to English' method of translation, I can see that it says,
"I see your knee ninja soon is vacant, silly. You've failed to put tree bark in the kettle forcing me to punish your tendon."
Now I must go translate it the traditional way with an English/Albanian dictionary... be back soon...
hmmm... not much better:
"Good morning, how are you? You are a much person, surely. Thank you, yes it was a good copy, now mind your own business!"

I think there is a movie called Lost In Translation. I wonder could that be happening here? I like your version, LOL, but the other sounds so nice and friendly. Love the picture. It is so quiet and peaceful.

The photo is indeed of Sloten. I thought I recognized it, but since many Frisian TOWNS (there are only 11, the rest are villages) look like this I was not 100% sure. Since I know that this is Sloten, I can tell you that I have walked there along the canal, first on this side of the water and later, after passing the bridge, on the side that you see here on this picture.
Dutch has indeed a different word order than English. When it is similar, it's just a coincidence. It would be very hard for you to learn Dutch, but it's not impossible

Beautiful piece on tributes! I, too sometimes have to take a second look at my translations. Figures of speech throw me off quite often, however.

hahahaha.... Oh Wayne, you are such a jolly joker. I was glad to see that my dear friend Leander translated the Dutch well, for what might people think of me when they read YOUR translation(?). Not one word is correct except for Wayne and (tien) ten. At least now you know what it was about. I did not say one wrong word about you, so you can be happy.
