I've searched for words
In 'silence',
And found 'license'
To create a memorable
Womb of words for you;
Where you can feed from
The vowels of my vows.
Sometimes less is more.
You're bookmarked
In my thoughts of impressions
Fossilized in the dark
Of a closed book,
An open mind.
So when my binding thoughts
Automatically turn to you,
They become boundless
Vehicles of expression
In search of a way
To your heart.
On this endless landscape
Of eternal love,
My horizon
Is your silhoette;
And the weather,
Our communication.
Now shed some light
On this sheltered reminder
Of my love for you.
Read between the lines,
And be reborn
From the echoes
Of my verbal protection.
Author notes
written to my ex-girlfriend for her birthday. she happened to be considerably older than I so the relationship had to come to an end at some point. But I appreciate the time we had together. I'll never regret it and I'll never forget her.

Lovely work. Some great imagery and despite the sad feelings of your poem, there is still some happiness within this, no regret. Great job, many thanks and good luck.

I'm sorry about your breakup. I know you decided to move on, and I congratulate your for letting down, although I'm sure it was difficult after how long you had been together.
