Canopy drapes across the flowing night;
now falling. The moon bearing its glowing
features behind milky clouds. The haze
it creates mirrors your billowy beauty;
I see it with my heart and hands. I see
your softly glowing face, and your eyes gaze
upon my skin. We are milky together, king
and queen. Flying birds yawn out of sight
as silhouettes. Today was perfect, your
hand drawing on my face circles and lines.
We are those clouds, each fluffy wave
hiding that crisp orb. We softly save
each others breath in our lungs, they bind
us to ourselves. No need to look for
beauty in sunsets or walks on the beach.
The typical cliches that adorn valentine gifts
each year. It's only your love that lifts
me up every day. I am learning now, you teach
me what it feels to be loved again. Our wants? None
except this, this sweetness we savour in one
another. But don't tell your Mother.
Author notes
made the stanza progression (well technically regression), more patterned.

I remember reading through the draft for this - the world's most perfect poet. I'm so sorry to have brushed you off - but my life hasn't been so perfect of late. I haven't had time for anyone, really.

ahhhh... I started reading it, and could have sworn I recognized it... but now I know.
Still beautiful, of course. I like this version of it, too--either way, it sounds awesome. I'd say more, but goodness, I'm tired. Keep up the amazing work!
