Its true what they say, that money makes the world go round, it could be a dollar, a euro, or just a straight pound,
Its like we're surrounded by what could be perceived as a fairground, we're in an impound, rides dreaming of the good life, a good day,
When people didn't always prepay, their lives led astray by debt, millions of people living in poverty with no outlet,
Because they're striving to achieve the stereotype that they do believe,
The rich 'n' famous and the happy lives they lead, when really, in reality, things ain't what they seem,
Government fed extreme regime, take from the poor and feed the rich, keep the working class down in the ditch.
Where empty stomachs stay empty and full stomachs stay full, where the misfortunate stay under and the bureaucrats misrule.
We live in a world where money is everything, Where money determines your fate,
You need money to do anything, Youth have to pay to graduate, Its mad you say?
How money is the doorway to today, the pathway to the misplay and dismay,
Now you have to obey, obey the wealth, the wealthy minds and pockets that keep this world in their clutch.

And the song by Nine Inch Nails came to mind "Head Like a Hole".......this was a very good write and so very true, what happened to do the days when the simple pleasures in life meant everything......Oh yeah we had to begining paying for them. I sometimes sit and think even when I am at home doing nothing I am spending money like mad with all the things we surround ourselves with in this world.

oh, so true!!! Society has been going crazy about money. I am not in poverty, but I AM in the lower scaled living. Both my parents have to work both day and night for us to live even in the LOWER scaled living. If it weren't for them working so much, I do believe we WOULD be in poverty. Great write; it captured my heart. Great lyrics. Is it a rap? it would be cool as a rap. If it's not, it's great anyway. AMAZING.
