When Hardness Comes (Heroic Rispetto)

~:~X~:~

When hardness comes, we often cry above
And beg removal of our grievous load;
We scarce recall our Saviour's words of love,
That every saint will have his Calvary road.

Take up your cross, a DAILY sacrifice-
The benefits have far outweighed the price;
And when we find no strength to keep His pace,
He'll plant our steps in all-sufficient grace.

Author notes

Before my friend Sarah prayed for me the other day, when I was telling her how hard things seemed, she said that we sometimes forget that we're to take up our cross DAILY... Boy, did THAT phrase leave an impression on my brain!- Especially since the very next day also held someone "hard"... as well as today!

I've been praying for wisdom and understanding and ENDURANCE in all of this...

But, I also thought we could ALL use the reminder.

    I'm glad I saw this. I'll have to pray for insight about this, because I want more of this. Thanks, li'l sister.

    This is so true. You have done a beautiful job and on this piece. God allows us to be challenged so often but He also always gives us a way to escape... For some reason this trial has come to you and I will pray with you that things get better. Even though we hate trials or even a hard time in our life, God will always use them for the better... Look at the trials I have been through and how many people have come to know the Lord because of it. Thanks again for a great poem. I have got to learn this form... I need to understand the meter better first though.
    Because He Lives,
    Beka

    Now you knew I would like this because I appreciate both the beauty of the poem as well as the form! I like the perfect rhymes and how you even made 'sacrifice' work! I also enjoy that this is a meditation from your soul, a working of grace that you liberally splashed in your poem. Very beautiful piece of art this is. Belle
