I am the One

I am the One

I am the one
who sits in shadow
watching, guarding
at times forgotten

I am the one
who stands alone
looking to the stars
longing to go home

I am the one
In the circle of power
the witch, sorceress
energy worker

I am the one
who looks to you
for teaching hands
and wisdom's challenge

I am the one
who fights with honor
then comes to you in pain
to feel your loving touch

I am the one
who sings in silence
walking amongst the trees
feeling the soul of the planet

I am the one
who sees with eyes
that look beyond the surface
to the soul within

I am the one
the sister, mother
aunt and lover
who holds you in the dark

I am the one
who walks both worlds
that of the spirit
and the flesh

I am the one
who wanders far
seeing the universe
beyond mortal imagination

I am the one
who kneels before you
accepting, expanding
completely submissive

I am the one
to whom you cling
when waters rush
and become too deep

I am the one
who will guide you
to worlds and realms
forgotten in dreams

I am the one
warrior, child, parent
poet, woman, lover
pet, teacher, guide

I am the one

I am me

I am

What a really lovely write, so soft and yet powerful and that is a style I really like. It makes me think of the way women used to be I suppose, soft and yet powerful. Strength of woman since time began, that what this says to me.

WOW! This poem has a magickal feel to it. I thought the poem is powerful and bold in all it conveys of who you are. Loved the background and font colour choice. Very well organised poem. The first and second stanzas are my favourite. I'm sure that everyone can connect with a certain part of this poem and has been there, done that...

    All the best,
    Charishma

Beautifully written! Very powerful! I like the repetition of the "i am the one" part, and well makes you think how indiviual people are because my version of this would be very different. Good peom though, keep it up! x

    dear lady sylvyrdragon,
your poem is very powerful and holds a very particular energy and the image that comes to my mind is a "magic wand" ... please don't ask me why ... I actually find your poem very magical and empowering. it sounds very much like an incantation, like a prayer. and together with the force your poem radiates, it also reveals the very delicate sensitivity of a soul who is attuned to the forces of the universe and her innermost intuition.
a very delightful poem indeed, a treasure to behold.
