My reason is simple, I am broke
But worry not, I have something made for you
It is a simple present, my wishes and words

May the all the angels clap for you
And may you dance around the moon
Life is pretty only because you are beautiful
My gift is not the best, but it is true
So once again, happy birthday
Don't eat too much of cake, it will make you fat
Make a wish before you blow each candle
First one to thank God for giving you a life
Second a wish for yourself
and a third for anything you desire
You are precious and beautiful
My gift is not too big but it is pure
As you inhale and exhale in this life

This was a wonderful poem to read. Ive always believed in the saying "its the thought that counts"
I would rather have a beautiful poem like this wishing me birthday wishes than a present or a cake. I would be able to keep this all my life as a memory.

I would rather have a birthday poem than a birthday cake, or a store-bought card any day.
This is such a sweet poem, and I really loved reading it. I remember when I was really little, I'd spend hours drawing, coloring, and writing a poem for a birthday card for my mom or dad. And they always made a huge deal about it, making me feel like I'd given them the best present in the world. So I guess a lot of that rubbed off on me, because whenever someone does something like that for me now, it feels awesome.

Thanks for sharing the birthday wishes... I enjoyed reading this. Sometimes the most simplest of things can be the most beautiful... I am always trying to tell people I don't want money, cards or anything like that. I just want love, care and beautiful words. But hardly any can muster these, so I have to settle with the former.
