when I think of you and close my eyes
a sun opens the empty skies
and pulls me towards
you

there is a circular gateway behind my eyelids
its golden path leads towards
midnight blue rooms
and white

now I can see the warmth of your soul
underneath the moist crust of eden
your broken flesh
rest

I feel complete in the knowing
that the cancer had stopped
its gnawing pain
forever

letters still arrive for you
the key to the post box
does not fit

within my soul your room is still intact
daily I fold away your clothes
in cupboards non-
existent

your watch had stopped long ago
why did you not tell me
you did not need time
anymore?

now that you are gone I can write
about the joy of knowing
you will never again be
gone

when I think of you and close my eyes

you
should there not be plural here? opens and pulls?
there is a circular gateway behind my eyelids
its golden path leads towards

i like this one - very rich in description, beautiful.
now I can see the warmth of your soul
underneath the moist crust of eden
your broken flesh
rest
i think of dreaming here of later time where you may join love.
I feel complete in the knowing
that the cancer had stopped
its gnawing pain
forever
this could be dual - cancer in someone released to death or cancer in mourning taking control of a life still living. good either way.
how soothing the sorrowful fact that none
of the lies of this wretched world
can ever again turn you
homeless
definitely a fare the well here with no more lies of the mad world to torment.
overall my verdict is somersaulting a smile

When I saw the title and read the first line I thought it was going to be similar to my "When I Think Of You". While I was mourning the loss of love you're are mourning the loss of a loved one. It is comforting to know that once this mortal shell is gone our soul has a home forever.
Sincerely,
