That little black boy,
Who snatched my purse,
I don't blame so much.
As the fat white cat
Who steals my power,
And freedom,
And bats them around....
He kills me slowly,
So he can watch;
He pushes a button
To give me hope,
So he can gather data
As hope fade from my face...
As reality hits.
So I give Maria
Five bucks
To get gas
And have a hot dog.
I give her a hundred, that I don't have,
When her cat
Gets hit
By a car.
I find her a shrink
When she wants
To kill herself....
She is an incest victim.
I remember her
Screaming
Kill him!...Kill him!....Kill him!....
When we watched
Thelma & Louise together....
Now I scream too.
Maria says she'll pay me back....
That would be OK.....
But I'd rather she burn it
To fire her anger;
Her will to survive.
Maria I don't blame so much.

The imagery of this poem is nice but as poetmasterspirit has stated earlier to read the poem does give us the understanding of your enlightenment. I also see that you stated it was "not blaming" which is true in it's essence because we can really only blame ourselves we can not blame another. Forgiveness is a key to all. Thank you for your entry and good luck in the contest hon

Hi,
I would think that "Not blaming" might be considered an enlightened state of mind.....thanks for reading this ttfn -
I like the imagery of this poem and where it goes, but I really didn't understand what does this all have to do with enlightenment. Perchance I am missing something....
