ROMEO: "It seems we are destined to meet again fair Juliet,
I must be wary or your beauty will capture my heart!"
JULIET:"I have no wish to captivate your heart.
Where would I keep it!"
ROMEO: "Locked next to your own."
JULIET:"Why then it would be a prisoner and miserable!
You should protect your heart not throw it away!"
ROMEO: "A heart should be given, Juliet.
Your beauty calls my heart and like an eagle
It flies to you."
(aside)"Elusive beauty! Am I captivated?
My heart spoke to her, did she realise that I love?
This passion will devour my soul!
I will drown unless she return my love!"
At the masked ball:
ROMEO: "A new set of clothes, why I am a new man completely!
To thine own self be true, I must tell her of my love!
Sweet Juliet, may I have this dance?"
JULIET:"Why, for certain, it is every ladies dream
To dance with a handsome stranger!
In these masks I can't tell whether you are a
Handsome stranger or not, for they may hide
A thousand faults and no one would be wiser!
Therefore I dance a dream come true!
ROMEO: "You bewitch me Juliet!"
JULIET:"You have not been caught by any spell of mine."
ROMEO: "But I still adore you - may I confess
I am in love!"
JULIET:"In love, why this is a dangerous game you play!
Those who fall in love gamble with their hearts
And hearts are fragile creatures!
I might break your heart!"
Romeo: "I cannot believe that!
Let me steal a kiss!" (Kisses her and leaves.)
Juliet:"Do I dream? Who was he?
Would that I could breathe!
What is this subtle potion?
My heart pounds, my head is on fire,
Has cupid buried me in arrows?
I feel a strong passion for this man!
Could it be that I love!"
Fool: "Best to avoid love!
One look, one smile and the world is upside down!
I wouldn't mind so much if you could ever
Stand up again, but lovers tell me this is impossible."
