you carry with you no more

Whenever things get really tough;
You can’t imagine what to do
Everything is going    wron g

NOTHING just DOESN’T make NO sense to you

A peek in the mirror reveals a great big frown
Life seems to be crashing in, there’s no answers to be found
Depression takes you by the hand,
     ……..Silently……leading….you……away…………..
From the hope and serenity you had just yesterday
Just around the corner
is HOPElessness and despair
Then along comes confusion
mixed in with a lot of fear
And so you begin to THINK
Wouldn’t it be great to put life on hold
Snap!  You’ve just forgot everything you’ve been told
About it you no longer have to think
Because right now
YOU WANT     A  DRINK

WELL,
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO KNOW
THAT IT’S TO A MEETING  YOU SHOULD GO
ONCE YOU GET THERE, HAVE SOME COFFEE AND TAKE A SEAT
SOON YOU’LL FIND OUT
THE PEOPLE THERE ARE   REALLY COOL, , AWFULLY NICE
            And PRETTY NEAT

THEN PUT ON YOUR SEAT BELT
IT’S GONNA BE A REAL WILD RIDE
TAKE OFF THE SHADES
THERE’S NO REASON ANYMORE TO HIDE
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LISTEN
TO WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY
SOON YOU WILL REALIZE
YOU’RE NOT REALLY HAVING THAT BAD A DAY
WHEN THE SPIRIT STRIKES YOU
AND YOU WANT TO SHARE
JUST RAISE YOUR HAND
AND TELL US WHAT WE NEED TO HEAR
WHEN THE MEETINGS OVER,
HOLD A HAND,
SAY THE SERENITY PRAYER
------  WALK OUT THE DOOR
YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER
YOU’LL REALIZE THERE’S NO NEED TO
CAUSE THE BAGGAGE YOU CARRIED IN HERE
YOU CARRY WITH YOU NO MORE

At first the title confused me, but I get it now. It is also part of my favorite lines in the poem.

    "WALK OUT THE DOOR
YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER
YOU’LL REALIZE THERE’S NO NEED TO
CAUSE THE BAGGAGE YOU CARRIED IN HERE
YOU CARRY WITH YOU NO MORE"

It is like the rush of relief in the poem. We all have our own baggage and I believe that to be able to let it go and not feel alone when you do it is the greatest forms of relief a person can have. I like the sense of confusion in the fourth line, that makes even clearer the words you were saying, while not really being proper english. I like how you utilized the spaces and punctuation to accentuate meaning in your poem and not as just dead space between lines and words. I used to go to AA meetings with my uncle. They always seemed really close and my uncle always left looking accomplished. So in a way I understand what you mean.

    Believable

This is written with sincerity and heart. Gives the feeling of really unburdening one's soul at a meeting.

How true the sentiments you express in these lines - easy to read and understand the importance of these meetings, of staying sober and living life to the fullest. Strong message you convey here.
