Sweet whispers of the past played a symphony of precious moments in her head as she sat out upon the balcony under the starlit sky.
Dark tacks streaked her face as if she'd been grieving for a death. Perhaps she was; the death of her unending joy in life. All because one person didn't understand.
Kira closed her eyes, and leaned back, letting the cold embrace her instead of the warmth she longed to feel. She would never feel him again; not unless she wanted to risk ruining his life.
Their song, Iris, drowned out the world that night.

wow, such a beautiful piece, Rose.
Lovely write.

More like forced into the sacrifice to keep the person doing the forcing from ruining her love's life. Thank you for your comment.

Hmmm...quite an interesting write my friend. This is dark, yet so filled with emotion and wisdom. Its a shame that we sometimes have to sacrifice the things we want for others...guess its the mature thing. Well done.

Perhaps...but maybe that one person who didn't understand just needs to open their mind so that Kira can have another chance with the man she lost.
