See Or Be Seen

.

I hear Your eyes
as You are speaking to me...

My Lord, Your Light
         is more than slightly bent

As I hear Your voice
         through this person's filters-

Yet, it is You.
That deep Well from which ALL flows...

The illusion of separation
tries to pull me back into the dream of life

I resist my mind's activity
of trying to recognize an individual's sense of self

I want to stay HERE in this moment
listening to the Source of All speaking to It's own Self

Awareness looks silently in through
the clear molecules that make up the cornea in the human eye

You are in there...
I AM out here looking at I in there, for there is only ONE to see or be seen.

Author notes

Every person sees themselves as seperate from the whole of ALL. To me it is ONE life living through many manifestations... many filters that call themselves their own.

If you pay attention though, you may see what it IS that speaks from behind those eyes... be it pure and clear - or mired in the activity of the mind of the "person."

(Of course, your observation is either pure and clear or mired in the activity of the mind of "you.")

"to see a world in a grain of sand
and heaven in a wild flower
hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and eternity in one hour ..."
    -william blake-

this is what came to me after having read your poem.
to see the One in all that is ...
to hear Him speak, to see His beauty, to know Him act
in and through all forms ...

Truth is beautiful. How easy it is for us to forget that it is ALL ONE and then to know that mentally and feel it within our hearts is also a world of difference. Oneness. Thanks for a reminder of our inter-relatedness. This was definitely an inspired piece. Thanks for sharing.

    Beautiful!!!

Seeing is knowing and yet how many of us really see to know? What is inside is outside as well and yet we neither see it nor feel it. Instead we look else where, at the void that holds nothing but mere illusions. Revelation is within us all and yet we search for it all over.

A very beautiful spiritual write, my friend.

    Marvelous!

This is visually and philosophicaly marvelous!

As our awareness grows, it becomes easier and more natural to "see" past the illusions- connecting directly to the Source (self)

I love the metaphoric homonym usage of the first line:

    "I hear your eyes"

or, as I see it "I hear your "I"s

This one line could speak the whole poem.

Seeing the divinity in all things is the single most life altering activity that I practice. Sometimes it is easier than other times...

Here, it is as easy as looking in the mirror,

Oh my. This is fantabulous! The sense I/eye comes through so clear. Then I clicked on your home page, and felt shivers up my spine. I gauge a poem by my physical reaction, and this one is a winner!

Sometimes I like to step back and see the big picture, sometimes I like the details. However, not knowing that I could step back made life difficult. We each have our own skew on things, don't we? I think you demonstrate your idea very well.

Yes dear Presence, We need to close our eyes to this world to open them to the heaven that dwells within us.
Always there have been those that made this a priority in their lives. Nothing feels more complete than when we make that connection inside. The peace inside is looking for us; the love inside is looking for us.
We just need to take that attention that is always going out and turn it around, to find the real self inside of us. Fantastic poem! Bravo. Your epiphany sounds intriguing-certainly the Creator has a marvelous sense of humor.
    Peace and joy Tara

    Inspiring.

Dear Presence, Some mornings I feel as if I am being touched by Him and the universe, others, like this morning, I feel alone. It is strange how our human emotions go from celestial to human to celestial. But it is suppose to happen and there is a reason for it all. Jane

Creator of the Universe! I cannot look now to see You through the eyes of this one, but I hear Your voice in her words! There is no doubt that were I to peep into those eyes... I would find YOU there!
