Inspiration

Sometimes the mind is barren
And words will not flow through.
A life is always changing.
Inspiration will come to you.

Just look around at beauty
And note down all you see.
The power of the universe
Each new flower, plant and tree.

The new-born baby crying
A toddlers faltering steps.
The smile from a senior citizen
Their life's wisdom in its depths.

Inspiration may come with anger
Sometimes sadness, often love.
All emotions flow and gather
Like clouds, so high above.

Dark clouds are our anguish
When words we cannot find
But bright clouds are renewing
The inspiration in your mind.

Nice, I like this. And it is so true, inspiration is everywhere hiding in plain sight. All you have to do is look around. Though I know from experience that it can be very hard to see it.

I loved this entire poem. There's not one thing I didn't like about it! I think almost everyone can relate to the feeling of writer's block that you describe in the first stanza. Each stanza is a seperate idea, but they all have the same theme. I especially liked the third part where you mention the child and the senior citizen. Wonderful job!

This is so beautifully written. Sometimes I am so riddled with inspiration that I can't write down the points quickly enough, but I truly miss my muse. I loved this poem, and I'm sure she would too. Inspiration is a great name for it. Thank you for entering. Hugs, Patricia

Beautiuflly done. I found myself feeling quite inspired reading this one. This is a softly serene piece that indeed forges a wondeful image of inspiration. Excellent job on this
