It settles
like a thick blanket
over my very being;
sadness
grief, loneliness.

Stifling out my
very
breath;
rolling in and
covering
all...

~ And yet beautiful~

Beneath it
I
quiver.

    You Rock!

    Melissa, WOW! What an expression of sensitivity, vulnerability and yet reserved strength. Your eye for the aesthetics even in the realm of danger is admirable. I really like this poem/picture package. You Rock! Dennis

    Melissa, Dear this is beautiful and sooo moving. Your words have captured the picture beautifully, but there is such a sadness here. God Bless you lovely one...God is with us..and He gives us beauty in all things if we can only see it.

    Awesome job, Melissa! This is absolutely wonderful! Has the artist gotten a chance to see it? I know, as an artist myself, that I love seeing the art that other people create from what I do. Very nicely done! Keep it up!

    Melissa, Dear, this is lovely, and the picture is a breathtaking scene that reminds me of where we used to live. The fog would lie in the mountains just like this, and it was a pleasure just to look out our window at it. A beautiful poem! Hugs, Ma

    O Molassis, this is a gem! I like the abstractness and mystic of this write--I think it is one of my favorites of yours. P.S. Are you a first-time grandmother?!? Congrats on the baby! Hugs and luv, Belle

    it's because on the 'other' side of sadness, grief and loneliness.. comes beauty... kinda like the rainbow after the rain? Just seeing ahead is all... LOL.. how you doin?

    A third "well done"

    An interesting idea - sadness, grief and lonliness being "yet beautiful." But, beneath that heavy blank I can understand the quivering. Well done, Melissa. Really causes me to stop and think and ponder. Yep, well done.

    Very beautifully done and with few words, making it all the more beautiful. The picture truly adds to the piece as well, though it is not needed.

    I have to say it was short but sweet. You do an excellent job of capturing the beauty under the darkness and vice versa.

    amazing

    this tear glitters,
    and brings out the blue in my eyes,
    flushed with sorrow,
    i fel more alive than ever,
    and i smile,
    becuase i can feel the release,
    as my heart silently breaks,
    and it took pain,
    to show me the purest pleasure in life.

    this brings alot of thought and i think you wrote it very well.

    i know the feeling exactly...melancholy, yet bittersweet....

    you have managed to convey the spare, stark emotions and create a misty atmopshere in this short poem.

    well done
