One More Day

The things wishing I'd done, if only one more day.
Wishing we got to the hospice sooner,
brought my kitties you wanted to see,
taken you out in your wheelchair
to watch the birds and squirrels
brushed your soft auburn hair
painted your fingernails,
we always had so much fun.

Oh Mom, I wish just for one more day,
wished you had been able to stay.
God took you to keep you from pain
When I think of you, my tears rain.

The things wishing I said, if had one more day.
I am proud to be your daughter,
you taught and guided me well.
We all love you heart and soul.
I'm sorry for when I made you angry.
Can I get you something, anything?
You need to keep up your energy.
Still wish I could take away your pain.

Oh Mom, I wish just for one more day,
my heart breaks, you left us, didn't stay,
Just as we were leaving to go see you,
Hospice called us said "Your mom is gone;
she just passed a few minutes ago,
is there anything we can do?"

Sorry to say, they couldn't bring you back to us for one more day!
Miss you always and forever, Love you Mom xoxoxoxo
Please tell Dad "Hi and love you" for me.

"One More Day" by Diamond Rio

I know this isn't a typical write but i had to do it my way, My Mom died July 22, 2003 about a half hour b4 we were going to be there to visit her at the hospice she was at for 5 months. We did't even get to say good-bye or tell her we loved her b4 she died. At her funeral we played Diamond Rio's song "One More Day" xxxxxxxxx

Wonderuflly powerful write, emotions spilling over with the loss. Yet the pain is gone now and true love has returned. She knows how much you loved her, you said your goodbyes many times, she hears them every day too. Well done and best to you.

There are too many times that I have wished for one last moment. One last hug. One last word. If only I had said I love you before she went to bed maybe god would not have punished me by taking her away. You can tear yourself up by living your life with what if's. Very emotional and very well written. I said this in response to another but I read in chicken soup for the soul that a woman was lying on a massage table longing to see her father who had died and her mother appeared to her. She said "Oh mother, I am so sorry for all the pain you suffered."Her mother tipped her head to the side, smiled and said "But all I remember is Love" I was given such peace from that. I still have what if's but I know she forgave me and she only remembers the love I had for her and the happy moments I shared with her. I believe the same for your mother and everyone who has lost thier mothers and have the same guilt. Thanks for entering and good luck.

    amazing

I know that the anniversary of your mothers passing is next Saturday. Even though I will be away know that I am thinking of you and I am with you heart and spirit. One day you will be with your mother and all those you loved in Heaven. Then you can say all the things you were never able to say. I love you. xoxoxo

I'm sorry for your pain, and there's nothing, or no-one who can replace your mother...That must of been so tough.. I send some love your way sweet soul, and know that someone does care, but I know when you lose someone like that, you can only hope and pray one day you'll see her again...

    Your friend, Timothy
