Memories Too Real

Moonlight trickles down onto your face
Eyes in which show only the greatest affection
Lips as soft as roses, covered in kisses
Our love this night will meet no rejection

Trust me as this all unfolds and flutters
Quickly the moments grow stronger and stronger
This all seems too much like a dream
Needing us to last longer, so much longer

In my arms I hold you, a fragile gift
Never to let go, because, well, I love you
Oh how I wish for this night to never end
For time to slow so we can get through

I close my eyes and let it all dissolve
Only to open them again away from the past
For you now lay somewhere far far away
Somehow I managed not to make us last

On my nightstand there's still a photo
Of us at a dance just holding hands
I miss you my love, even after a year
As you drift away, memories only expand

    SO SOFTLY BEAUTIFUL

The true feelings do die hard, your words are filled with that love that you still hold dear.

'As you drift away, memories only expand' Isn't that the truth?
It was a pleasure reading this poem. A regular beat pattern might have helped the poem 'flow' a little more, but thats really only a little flaw.
To sum things up though, I think anyone entering a relationship should keep this poem in mind. I have a friend who would have done well to remember how memories can seem sweeter than reality. In other words, this poem hit close to home for me.
