In Memory of Vicki ........soulwarrior

Missing image
Vicki Santana, allpoetry’s ‘soulwarrior’
passed away in her sleep on March 12th, 2003
Anyone who has read her poetry, her loving comments.....
has felt her special love for us all.
She’s a very special person in my life and I’ve been
honored with the special poems she’s written to me,
for me.  I shall treasure them always, as I treasure God's
gift of Vicki in my life

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
she’s touched our hearts
with her poetry and love
made us laugh and think
helped us find a way
to get through our day
if angels are real
and I believe they are
then Angel Vicki will
be watching over us
inspiring us with her love
Vicki, you’re only one member
of our Family of Love
but you’ve brought us together
shared our laughter and tears
given your love to all
before you came into my life
I had two loving daughters
now I have three
your beautiful soul
has brought me joy
dear Vicki, I’ll miss you
but somehow I know
you’re with me
still sharing your love
your star shining brightly
you’re a true ‘soulwarrior’
pure at heart, loving
one of God’s special souls
you’re in his hands now
a better place to be
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I shall always hold you in my heart, Vicki.
And I thank God for bringing us into each others lives

    God Bless

    When I first came to this site, I would tend to sort of jump around, reading random poets. I somehow found another poem which had been written for Vicki, and I was touched. Then...I explored more into the entire life of her, read her page, some of her poems too, and I was even more touched. It was so sad. It shouldn't be a sad though, that her life is over because of this tragedy, but really she is in a life of beauty and eternal happiness now. I never knew her, but I had a touch to my heart the day I came to read her words. It was beautiful. As is this poem hun. Very nice tribute. Many hugs and love ~Aimee xo

    Vicki and I became great pals she sent me most beautiful cards snail mail to my home, some were homemade and I still have them just ran across one today going thru some things and it was like she was wishing me Merry Christmas from heaven
    She indeed was a beautiful person
    Thank you for this wonderful poem

    I feel so sad to have never met her acquaintance, my close and dear freind Laura, was good friends with her, and I remember when she found out about this, and my goodness she was so distraught, she loved her to death, and I always do take time to peek at whom was all her friends and what htey had to say, and this was warming yet it just made my heart sink, I guess for selfish reasons, because I bet I could have gathered much strength or probably fell in love with her like so many of the people here did, and what I guess I am seeing after so much time has passed, eternity actuallly in cyber years, is her good name, and love from God above, is shining on in memory, through so many warm and beautiful friends she had touched, beautiful poem, to someone whom must have been an absolutely amazing soul, I miss her too, and I never personally was priviliged to meet her, I sure do wish I had though,
    kindest regards,
    joe

    Catz~

    I've come back once again to read this poem. I have it saved in my favourites on Internet Explorer. It's amazing at how, one can not know a person, then when they're gone... You realize how much everyone has missed him\her. Everytime I read this poem, it sends a tear to my eye. I certainly hope that you're doing well, and I know certainly how you feel about losing someone so close to you. I lost someone very close to me in the summer. And it hurts alot. I think though...-In my opinion- That, losing someone makes you stronger, and more confident. And yet you may be upset about the loss of a loved one, you're truely happy that they were in your life in the first place. Such a beautiful tribute to Vicki, she'll be missed by all. (Including me.-I've read alot of her work. And she seemed like a beautiful person.) Rest in Peace, god bless you Dee for Writing this. Take care.

    I have seen the people here at AP form as a family, and I am sorry to hear of Vicki's passing. I think you did a really great thing here, your tribute to her is beautiful. I hope that you sent a copy of this to the person who informed you of Vicki's passing. Sometimes we must thank God for those who have graced our lives, even if they dont stay, we are better because of them, and I can see that Vicki touched yours. Blessed Be, Criss

    Catz...Such a beautiful and loving tribute to an "adopted" poetic daughter. This poem is truly a moving experience and shows how special the bond between you was. It is always sad when such a person as Vicki was passes away. But I am glad that she had such a wonderful friend as you are. I can only imagine the feeling of loss you now have in your heart. May God be with you and Vicki's family. May His comfort and His peace fill your hearts. ***Ivy Rose

(my best friend died in a car accident ... it will be four years in april since her death.) anyways, this was a very sweet tribute to her. thank you for sharing! *jenn

    There are so many wonderful people here at Ap. I find it funny sometimes how we all put on our writers mask and show the world the pretty picture we want them to see. We rarely see the real person on the other side of the computer screen. So many beautiful people suffer day in and day out but never show anyone. While others moan and groan about trivial things just to get attention.

    Vicki was such a sweet person. Always had a kind word for everyone.
    One of the few angels who float through our lives.
    She will be greatly missed…

    Dee, when I read this yesterday, I couldn't even comment, as I was so shocked by Vicki's passing. This is still of all I've read of tributes to Vicki the best, in my opinion. The are all great, and Vicki has to know how many here love her. I have a poem 4 her, too. Haven't had time to post. Been reading all the others all morning. Keeping the kleenex close by. I just recieved her letter today and was just sett'ling to answer her when I logged on to find that she will not get my letter. Vicki and I were making plans to meet. She was and still is my sister. Keep those angels singing sis, the poems you wrote will sound beautiful as the angels sing them!

    Such a beautifully expressed tribute to Vicki. It is so sad to hear of her passing, but it just goes to show that we ARE family on AllPoetry. Most of us will never meet face to face, but the "ties" are there. My condolences to her family and friends...

    the eulogy of Vicki is as pretty as the poems she penned
    I met her just this past month and was blessed in her friendship
    she has a kindness that can not be measured
    I am pleased she passed away in her sleep, hopefully pain free.
    She is in a much better place in God's grace and kingdom
    and she will be an angel to watch over us here.
    I am saddened by her departure, for I had only begun my friendship with her. She was a jewel to us here at AP
    many blessing to her family and friends

    Oh, this is so beautiful and perfect for sweet Vicki........

    I am shocked to hear this news and very upset, she has always been the sweetest angel to me, I sent her a Christmas card in the mail, and she mailed me a letter back. We had been chatting some on here very recently, and she had got my address again wanting to write to me some more, but she never mentioned any health problems.

    I am so sad, and will miss her deeply She is among the angels now, I have no doubt, I am honored to have been her friend

    Take care,

    Karen

    My condolences to her family and loved ones, and to all her friends here on AP. It is so sad to lose yet another wonderful poet from our little family here. Sadly, I didn't get to really know her. This comes as such a tragic shock, wishing I had more time to read the work of more people on AP, to get to know them just a little bit better. She was obviously loved by many here, touching hearts and souls with her poetry and I know she's in the arms of the Lord and surrounded by beauty now in Heaven.... a very beautiful and heart touching tribute Dee. She will be missed dearly

I am shocked and saddened that Vicki has passed away...her light shined brightly and she was a joy to those who knew her. May she rest in peace!

    I did not read any of Vicki's poems I don't think. I didn't know her, or of her. But I can see how much she meant to others. This site is truly a family full of bright people with bright futures. Great writers have come and gone from this site. Another one seems to have left us. Hopefully her words will be heard by others. Good luck to you in overcoming this tragedy. Great poem. She obviously had a true friend looking out for her.

    please stop, read this, it\'s important to AL

    I too, have to ask? What happened? Vicki was one who made all feel welcome and always uplifted us. Can't believe she has gone on, home to the Lord? I know that she is with Him, now. I can't express in this shock and grief: how much I'll miss her! My tears can not be contained, here. Only comfort, that she doesn't suffer in this fallen world anymore. She was truly loving, awesome woman, friend to us all. I will miss her deeply. My heart just feels scattered right now!!! Thanks catz for putting this up for us all!
    God Be With her family and all who knew her. My life is brighter because she walked through it, even if it was briefly. Leaving memories and footprints upon my soul! Another love one, I must keep in my memories as she has soared with the anf=gels and went on Home. Vicki, keep an eye on US All!!!

    what a beautiful tribute to someone whose life touched us. It makes us realize how temporary this life is..and as valuable to what we leave behind as well.

    Thank you for being part of her legacy. Blessings YOUR way....CookieZeal

    beautiful

    This is such a beautiful poem.

    I did not know her as much as many of the poets here have, but any event like this -- especially so effective with everyone -- is enough to sink my heart. But, as Dreamweaver said above, she is with the Lord our God, where there is no more sadness.

    It truly does help you to realize how precious everyone really is to you in your life and on this board. I wish that I would have known her, but I am so glad that she had wonderful friends like you and that you had a beautiful angel like her to make you smile, listen, understand but most of all love.

    She is looking down on you right now my friend, I just feel it so strongly. Remember her through the world. When it starts to rain, walk outside and feel her love upon your face, feel her pushing you to be the person that she knows you are in the gentle breeze, and watch her paint the world with her colors of love. But most of all, when you see those birds flying in the beautiful blue world, know that is her and that her soul is free and finally flying....

    God bless Vicki and all of you. I'm so sorry for this tragic loss.

    ~Much love~
    Sarah

    Excellent

    I have taken the liberty of placing here one of Vicki's own poems written recently:
    "Lord
    I tried to
    seek comfort
    in the world,
    and others.
    But I was still
    so thirsty
    and lost.
    For I was not
    seeking my comfort
    In you.
    I found I could
    quench my thrist
    in your perpetual
    foundation where
    still waters run so deep.
    Renewing my body
    Refreshing and rejuvanating
    my mind.
    And found I thirst
    No MORE."
    You thirst no more, Dear Vicki. May you be forever held in the loving arms of your Saviour.
    Rest In Peace, Dear Friend.
    Dee, you are a true and wonderful friend. Thank you for your kind and loving heart and for posting this beautiful dedication to Vicki.
    God Bless.
    Sammy.
