Lying in the paint
making snow angels
smeared through layers
of latex... I dream
of new colors mixed
but not blended.
So eyes - barrel wide,
can collect the coins
of optical bliss.

A MASTERPIECE!!!!
OK, this is short and, on the surface quite colorfully simple.
Yet, when I read it through multiple times, I begin to see the complexity of the metaphor. Quite ingenious actually!
The title reveals the setting, sleep. "Lying in the paint", how great is that! You are lying in the paint, or rather the painting of GOD, the colorful fully animated co-creation, in which you are playfully "making snow angels/ smeared through layers of latex". The reference to making snow angels reminds us that we are but children playing with the medium, not experts like GOD. The latex reference reinforces this thought because it is not as permenant as oil, and easier to clean up too!
So here you lie in the paint and dream...of what do you dream? "of new colors mixed/
but not blended." Of new colors, perhaps creative experiences in the painting of life, "mixed"~ merging with each individual person, place, experience, yet "not blended" probably meaning not losing yourself identity in the process.
"So eyes - barrel wide,
can collect the coins
of optical bliss."
So with our eyes wide open (heightened awareness) we can collect the coins (valuable experiences) in our painting of life.
WEll, that's how I interpreted it anyway. I enjoyed this little gem. Your writing is like a fresh stroke of poetic beauty across my screen. Thanks for sharing this.

Paint Me, Paint Me!
Yes, dear Presence, There you are rolling around on a big white canvas (fully dressed of course in a monk-like flowing robe) with all the colors of the rainbow and sun, making a big artistic statement to be compared with the colors of the big marble we all live on! WOW, man, what a trip!!!! Jane

Optical bliss. Yes Presence I can see you swimming in optical bliss. Colours streaming all around you or subtle ashen shades full of mistery and wonder. I too, love the pleasure the eyes bring as they survey this world of colour-Sometimes even more than food, I find it satisfying so I could really relate to your lovely tribute.
Peace and Bliss
