A handsome man
Once filled with so much love
Was taken for granted
Once too many times
With a freshly sliced wound
He's lost in his own sorrows
Turning to me
For support and understanding
Always willing to help friends
I listen to his situation
Learning more and more
About this kind hearted soul
Helping in anyway I can
Whether it be staying up talking
Or getting woken up to talk
None of it matters
As long as he's content
Closer and closer I grow
Very fortunate to know him
Always glad to have been
His sturdy shoulder to lean on

This is how the best relationships develop. A friend in need is a friend indeed. I married my best friend. We always talked openly because we were not trying to impress each other. Now married 18 years and still my best friend.

this is a very good write. I think that maybe you could add in some literary elements to maybe make it 'stronger' or to make it 'pop'
more but other than that this is a really good piece...and i shall have to read more.

this is very cute...it reminds me of my boyfriend and how we are with eachother. only he is my shoulder to cry on. and i'm brick wall to lean on. he is my everything. i'm the one hurting a lot not him. but this is a very good poem. i like your writing. and how you put a lot of you feelings into this poem. or what you thought he was feeling
