The Days of Eternity

The Days of Eternity

I remember your face from somewhere long ago-
 in another place and time.
I remember your smile. I locked it away
in my memory for future reference....
In case I ever had a difficult time-
 remembering the precious things-
from the days of eternity.

I remember your touch and whispered words of love.
I cherish them in my heart, still, today.
I recall, and even tho it was only a dream,
 that didn't matter at all.
When you came to me again-
my mind remembered that I knew you way back then-
Yes, in another place and time you were mine.
 During the days of eternity.

Some philosophers teach that people live more than once.
Perhaps that explains why you come to me-
over the walls of sleep.
Perhaps that explains why I'm so in love with you.
I spoke 2 you and heard a voice so familiar-
I gazed into your eyes and knew that somewhere,
long ago, with some unknown invisible ties-
 you bound me to you.
In some other place and in some other time-
 you found me again-
and my heart remembers the days of eternity.

Maybe we have walked the same paths-
 through many lifetimes together.
At night, you walk through endless dreams-
 always following close behind me-
Reaching with open arms.
We have lost each other so many times-
I can't recall them all.
But, in my heart I knew and my eternal soul knew too-
Some day, we would find each other again.
Where and when was a mystery-
Until you walked out of my dreams
 and into reality
  and made me remember
    those days of eternity.
