It seems like only yesturday
in polished boots, he went away.
To fields upon a different shore
freedom is worth fighting for.
Over and over she reads his letter
promising a life that is better.
Two years his daughter's grown
my, how the time has silently flown.
She waits as the days slip past
waits for him to come home at last.
Author notes
My daughter is waiting for her boyfriend to come home from the war in Iraq...and she reads his letters over and over.

How touching - finding this picture served as a reminder of something personal in your life-your daughter waiting for her bf and savoring memories of them through his letters. Thank you for your entry.~vju
