You have inspired me to do many things
and i am grateful for that.
you showed me who i could truly be
and i love you for that
the things that you have helped me with
seemed so little at the time
but when i look back on them
i see that
they could have changed my life dramatically
i will miss you when I'm gone
but when times get tough i will always think of you

That is actually a very sweet poem. I really like the idea. I agree with gother669 that it sounds like one of those old black and white movie couples. I love those movies.
I too have someone that I can think of when times get tough and that is an amazing thing to have. Congrats on a great write!
