Belief In You

The lifeblood staining this dilapidated ground
is a darkened venom upon ebony dust
It is not hard to see how wicked the homicide was,
and we both see more than we care to

A wrench of the heart, a petal or two
Life has not all but deserted you
There is breath, though shallow and light
There is a will to continue the fight

You've been beaten down and crumpled here,
and I see the bloody damage done
I will not see defeat, will not see you die
The whisper of a memory of that little cry

Get to your feet and keep moving on
with a little face in mind and a sweet, little song
Life is full of evil lies, betrayal, and pain
Do not let that stop you now; don't let them win

The more we see in this place, the more we walk down,
the more I see within a heart that deserves a crown
Though stone it may seem, I see the little cracks
You are not dead yet, dear, just follow the tracks

There is at least one person that believes in you

Author notes

I believe that you can stand strong, even if you falter. Remember that, and keep getting up every time you fall.
