Cassandra Rose

Missing image
Cassandra Rose
Class of 2006

I watched you blossom Cassandra Rose.
With your blond hair and cute button nose.
It seems like only yesterday to me.
You would smile and say, "Cookie Grammy"

Then off to the bus and kindergarten.
Lunch money for a little milk carton.
Winning those spelling bees in junior high.
Played the clarinet as the band went by.

Editor of newspaper in high school.
Working at the library was so cool.
Valedictorian of senior class.
A high grade point average you did amass.

Loving you all those years and being proud.
All your accomplishments I praise aloud.
Volunteering with your heart made of gold.
A brand new story about to unfold.

I wish you the best in your college years.
Have faith in God to face unknown fears.
A new beginning, now high school is done.
My Cassandra Rose, you are number one.

Hi Sis~ This is a beautiful poem about Cassy. She is a such a wonderful young lady. I have enjoyed watching her and her sister grow up. They have been a special part of my life. You are very blessed. We are looking forward to her graduation next week. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday when she was off to kindergarden. Has Cassy seen this? She will love it...especially beause it was written by her Grammy. See you soon. Love, Linny

very nice. For her I'm sure, as it is probably is for many others, graduation is both a happy and sad time. Happy about finishing school and moving on; sad about not seeing the same people every day like you used to. You've written this well. I know she'll just love it. Well done.

    tear-falling beauty

this piece is beautiful. my grandma lives with me and she has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (see ap.com/poet/footprint, and view "cancer" if you're interested) and this poem really makes me miss her. the love of a grandmother is not like anything else God blesses us with. I wish Cassandra Rose the best in her college career and future life. love on, grandma.

Oh what a beautiful warm and loving poem this is.
So obvious how you feel about your beautiful grandaughter.
I have a Grandaughter I feel the same way about.
She also has that special something that everyone loves.
We are adoring Grandma's no doubt but isn't it a wonderful feeling?

An excellent poem from the heart.

Aww. This was extremely heartfelt and I loved it.
The end-word rhyming seemed a bit driven, to be honest.

However, it was a great write! I hope Cassandra Rose knows how special she is, and how much she is loved.

    God bless,
    Mended
