Driving down the deserted back roads
in the dead silence of night
all the windows rolled down
the glass moon roof open as well
music blasting causing tired
dogs to bark and yelp
wind whips past her face
wild and free hair
stings unflinching eyes
hands steady on the wheel
pressing the gas pedal
down harder, harder
faster the car flys down
that deserted stretch of road
her voice rings loud and
clear over the music
faster she flys, louder she sings
the deserted road is no longer
deserted. Stop lights up ahead
must brake,she must return back
to the fully populated earth.
