self, a
defender;
always prepared
for all appearing.
Strength eternal, ever
learning its own potential,
or slip through any open cracks
in order to conceal itself, so
it can become what it means to become.
I shall hide amongst the softened shadows,
whisper into the autumn-time winds.
I am not ready to be seen;
I am not so purified.

Awesome! I love how you spoke of the creature in your first nonet, and spoke of yourself in the second. Lovely pattern. The punctuation helps, also. This must be promoted immediately!

WOW! One of the super best double etheree I have read thus far on this site. You did this very very well. The descriptions of the attributes of a Scorpion have been brought out very well here. The syllable count is perfect. Wonderful use of alliteration and assonance. Loved the tone of this piece. Heartiest Congratulations on the GOLD!
