An Aussie Ballad For Vonnie (audio)

This is for my friend Vonnie - kind of an early Birthday present
It was inspired by the lovely and talented lady ea - who wrote and sang a beauty of a song for me ...
Have a listen
allpoetry.com/Poem/2009452

So i sorta, almost, pretty darn near, came this close to, sounding like ea - ok, so i didn't - hope you like it anyways Vonnie

media.putfile.com/For-Vonnie

There's an Aussie ballad waiting
to be scribbled for this dame
And I'm the one to do it
Yes, its me who'll take the blame

O' she gives herself insanely
to the folks of old AP
For she's nutty and she's naughty
just the kind of gal for me

From the very early morning
we yak most everyday
Oh dear Vonnie girl I luv ya
so please just let me say

You'll never settle down to
being normal like the rest
It may be in the food down there
it's overly processed

Kangaroo's are mighty lovely
but dont eat them from the can
And Koala bears are cuddly
they make a nice afghan

Platypuses are not chickens
so dont eat that nasty egg
It'll give you diarrhea
not to mention a sore leg

So I've scrawled this Aussie ballad
tossed a coin into the sea
With a wish that you'll continue
to share your time with me

Oh, you certainly made me smile with your Aussie Ballad for Vonnie! I couldn't access the links to listen to audio but you have a lovely singing voice ( I recall well the dulcet tones to Dustafarians lol ! ) So I could still "hear" the words, love your humour my friend! I think I may have read this some time ago but nethertheless it is good enough to read again and again! Bravo!

This poem would scare her away
Make her want to go astray
    Music madness
    Boost her sadness
Poor girl's hair is turning gray

    Good on ya!

Gal, this was terrific, the melody you chose to sing this was pretty much the melody I sang it to in my head before hearing your lovely rendition. Enjoyed this as I am sure vonnie wll as well, being the crazy 'roo eating Aussie Sheila that she is...peace Terry

Wow you can sing........I got my socks blowed off when i heard those pipes of yours Galf. I was thinking political office for you. Instead of blowing your horn you can lyricise your way in there, giving all your addresses forced free verse so it keeps the masses in total disheval and off tune. Now for the state of the union address we want you to rhyme and sing it like this one so we can sit back and say "Aint life grand~!!!!!"

This sounds a lot like a sedated version of my "Mellow Ho of Texas" sung by Curuso instead Johnny Depp in drag like my rendition. Your voice is quite lovely. It's exceedingly disarming as well as just a teensy bit sexy. If I was Jason of the argonauts I, too, would make them tie me to the ship's mast so I could hear it without being tempted to jump overboard to get to the source. Now you're a siren I would be happy to hear anytime. The entire presentation brought a big evil grin to my face and a rise in my......
