One God

There’s only one God
and he's the same god
that we're all fighting for
Whether Christian, Jew or Muslim
Abraham’s God is the One

Though we may differ
On who's come and gone
and the simple ways we pray
There's only one God
And he's the same God
That's what we're all fighting for

We will never count the multitudes
that have died in his name
Is god really worth dieing for
I can't believe
He wants it this way

So tonight I say this prayer
May we find peace this day
Start practising the love god taught
instead of mixing up his words

    THIS WAS REALLY ANMAZING ..AND ENCOURAGES THE ATHEIST LIKE ME TO VOICE OUR CLAIM ..IS THERE ANY GOD ..AFTER ALL HE MUST BE SICK AND TIRED OF BEING THE ONE IN WHOSE NAME SACRIFICES ARE MADE EVERYDAY ..WHY INSTEAD OF BEING A UNIFYING FORCE IT ENCOURAGES DIVERSITY IN ITS EXTREME FORM AND INDUCES PEOPLE TO KILL AND DIE IN HIS NAME

    So be that is another words for amen i feel the same way the ending was so great. how do you write so well it comes from the heart i have felt this way could not of said it so very well. you have such great comments what could i add it all been said. There is truth in these words. There not going to be a row for what church we belong to in this life. It will be his church not ours i can not say it as well sorry i tried take care

    Your view on God is very rare, I've only known of 3 other people who look on all the gods as one God, that the same God has many followers and He is called and prayed to in many names, I think it's wonderful, especially to think that someone for e.g. worshipping Buddha might think the same, it's amazing how we can all differ and yet we're all the same.

    You penned a unique (in my opinion) poem and I thank you for entering it, good luck

    thank you for the lovely comment. yes i guess if you are in iraq, that is a foreign shore lol , and yes i love all of our troops tank you for doing an awsome job over there. how long are you to be stationed in iraq,how often do you get on allpoetry.please read my poems ,if you havent yet,god bless you all we here in america think you all are doing a great job,thank you love america you are right, there is but one god,just everyone don't know that yet i guess
