It began as the beginning
When occupied the land
Subtle at first
Then temptations thirst
Pain and suffering their curse
Covering the earth their passion
Birth their expansion
War their degeneracy
A few believe
Death its wake
A promise made
A new foundation laid
In slavery they toil
Generations in foreign soil
Plague what sets them free
Through a parted sea
A long journey
Greed exacts a dark fee
Stone tablets provide light to those who see
Progressing through life stages
Awaiting a man of the ages
Described from ancient time
A new testament will be debated
Disbelief and hatred escalated
Throughout millennia to present day
Guided by a higher hand
Sacrifice then, cursed now
Under many names, yet the same
Not like before, deny the existence
The challenge
At last breath
When eyes close to open no more
Look into the eyes of the beginning
Not into the throat that has no ending
