CONGRATULATIONS ON WINNING THE BRONZE TROPHY IN THIS CHALLENGE!

I love haikus. This is so peaceful. I could actually smell the "cut grass". I love the photo. I can't wait for summer. We finally got a beautiful sunny day with highs in the 70's. I had lunch with my sisters-in-law, and we had a wonderful day remembering the past. I've been in this family for 33 years and never had a moment that I did not enjoy with my husbands sisters. That is was refreshing for me as it was to read your words. It never takes many words to express joy. So, with that I will hush, and listen to the mower.

    Much Love,
    Renee

    dear blushfulmoon,
yours is one of the contest-poems which touched me most.
therefore I am so happy, you won the bronze-trophy.
what a wonderful tribute to this most cherished season.
yesterday, I drove by a garden which smelled of freshly cut grass, and, even without knowing you, I thought of you, and your poem which had penetrated my soul the first time I had read it ...
thank you for having permitted me to experience this moment of grace.

Nice poem you have written here. Once had a contest host of haiku tell me not to include a photo as the poem should paint the picture - who knows what to do anymore. Think one has to ask first. Liked this verse.

Wow, I can almost smell the scent now. You know, there are perfumes out there that say "Cut grass" but in my opinion they can never mimic the real smell, especially when it rains a little after the grass was cut. Ahh, now that is what I call a little piece of heaven on earth. Quite an amazing job, you did really wonderfully here! I loved the picture!! As always, an awesome write by an awesome poetress!!!

    Sweet

This is a very sweet poem and brings feelings of happiness to me. I love the picture of the little boy and those beautiful flowers. So precious. This poem makes me long for summer even though it gets way to hot during summer here in Cali , but I do love summer most of the time, heat and all. Thank you so much for the invite to read these wonderful poems.
    All my love,
    ~Amanda~

This is lovely Susan! I can't wait, personally, for the smell of cut grass; especially when the lawn-mower's been out and done its duty Much rain and mist here at present; quite annoying since we had some gorgeous sunny days a week ago

I always have energy and come alive in Summer; I love autumn too, when it's all a portrait of gold and brown, before the chill comes In winter ... I hibernate

It's too cold in Chicago to be thinking about summer. I do love the fresh smell of cut grass. I do hope spring gets here and then summer. Love the pic. Soo cute.

love haiku, i cant do 'em tho, mine come out more like hack-ku, you know, hack-ku; the noisy thing a cat coughs up on the bed-spread just before company shows up for dinner. i am told the strongest memory trigger is smell. the smells of summer made in childhood linger long into our twilight. May you be blessed with many wonderful recollections as the fragrances of memory waft well past the even song. Blessings and best wishes, ~richard

Awwww...so summerlike and happy, and the 'lil boy with his toy lawnmower is perfect. Like if you showed a man in shorts with his big stomach, it would not be the same at all! As always, you do a perfect presentation and I so admire you for it!

though I sneeze uncontrollably the smell of fresh-cut grass, I still love the scent. kinda crazy, but it sure beats the smell of freshly-shoveled snow!

it is a feeling of summer to smell the cut grass, hear the lawn mower being rev-ed up...and the image you posted with this haiku is just adorable! good luck to you in the contest, Susan!

Mmmmm I LOVE the smell of cut grass Would you believe that amongst all that I have grown in my garden thus far, grass has grown THE BEST? Yep! That's why when I read this, it planted a smile on my face. Love the use of the kigo in L3.

    All the best,

Oh Sis... I really love this... My favorite thing in the world is the smell of freshly cut grass. Don't you just love it?... and in this poem you nailed summer perfectly. This is a beautiful poem that not only brings wonderful images of the start of summer to mind but also its perfume.

    I truly love it

OMG, Susan! The haiku is so beautiful. I love the simplicity of haiku.

That picture reminds me of my boys when they were younger. Do you mind if I copy it? I may find a reason to use it some day.
