Contention

I think I’ve found the thing I need,
Not a want a need you see.
It tugs at my heart
Not hard but ever so gently.

It’s one of those feelings
You get when you think,
Of that special thing
And into your brain it does sink.

It brings a smile up
When it’s thought about,
A nice content warm feeling
Without a doubt.

Distance cannot overcome it,
It keeps near to you.
It doesn’t discriminate
If your white, black, Muslim or Jew.

If you’ve found it,
Then you’ll know it.
It brings you to contention,
Right in your stomach’s pit.

My stomach’s pit feels very good
That true point has been found,
Nothing will tear it away from me.
Finally now I can sleep so sound.
