Hi, I am Rapunzel. The little sister to the princess mention in the princess and the pea. Just so you know for starters, the writers got the prince and princess's roles mixed up. My sister Sarah wasn't soaked in the rain or had to go though that stupid test. Our parents were over protective types. That is where they got the idea. They won't have their daughter marry just anyone. He has to be sensitive. So any prince who wanted to marry my sister had to sleep on over 100 mattresses for one night and my mom would put a pea under it to see if it would disturb them. I would always laugh because the pea would always end up squished under the weight of the first two mattresses. And every morning the princes would fail the test and wonder why they didn't even get a chance to talk to my sister and only got to meet a snickering little child.
Well that day started like any other day. My sister and I went to the beach and hung out. she expressed wanting to get married and having kids. I was just 10, but I knew what she really wanted. Suddenly a freak rain storm came and we all rushed inside. It was cold, damp, and raining. the Thunder and Lighting scared our dogs til they were under the table. Then there was a knock at the door. A servant answered it and brought in a boy who claimed to be a prince. I knew he wasn't as did my sister. He was a boy from town around her age who was madly in love with her, but the lie fooled my parents and they went about preparing the test. While at dinner my sister expressed that she really did love this guy. I sighed and knew he along with all the others could never pass that test. so when everyone went to bed I crept into his room for the night with a huge rock. I slipped it under the mattresses with much difficulty. In the morning He was the first one up, considering he didn't sleep at all well. I was the second and removed the huge rock from his room before anyone even thought to check. At the table he complained of a sore back. He said "I couldn't sleep a wink last night. I felt like I was sleeping on a sharp, pointy rock.". Our parents were stunned. My sister looked over at me and knew it was my doing. she mouthed the words 'thank you'. So keeping to their promise my sister and the young man married. Later on did mom and dad realize that their daughter married a farmer's son. They were so embarrassed that they asked the brothers grim to twist the tale to let them coming out of this smelling like a rose. As for me, they found out what I did 5 years later and had me locked in a tower with a witch as the guard. Needless to say that didn't work as they planned either. So now you know, about the prince and the sharp, pointy rock!
