A Military Wife(For Ricky Case)

I know it's hard for me
Being over here
But how hard is it for her
the one across the sea

She cries tears each night
faces the fear of what might come
she's left with the burdens
not a touch or a hug

The military wife
stands a breed apart
the anchor of a mad man
that has to serve the world

For her there is no glory
nor a dollar in the bank
only tears of sorrow
for her man is far away

So I salute you all
you serve our country proud
the lover of a service man
Give three cheers and make it Loud

Author notes

    Bravo!

What a thoughtful, dedicated write to the wives of all serviceman who are doing their utmost for their country. It must be very difficult for the wives, seeing the media, knowing that their loved one is out there fighting for their country.

    Well Done!

    Awesome

Wonderful Charlie, again this shows how big your heart is. You have a wonderful talent. As a former military wife I understand the sacrafices each make. May God bless and keep all safe. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Great poem I can relate to your anguish I lost my first and only true love in the Vietnam War It hurts just as much today as it did on July 18, 1964 I wrote these poems dedicating to mothers and fathers and their military children serving around the world My heartfelt prayers and good wishes I extend to them May God protect and take care of them God bless them all I am sorry if you thought I had one serving now My children are now too old to be in service God bless

    Excellent

I am so glad that I read this. I have a very dear friend that is coming over next month and I am not dealing with it very well at all. I sob uncontrollably and tell him that he is not going (which we all know isn't an option). I don't know how the wives can do it. I admire their strength. I think it is wonderful of you to remember them and pay tribute to them.

This is beautiful.. I have sent my hubby over seas twice and each time your heart breaks a little more. The cracks in your heart tend to echo the cracks that form in your relationship. Great write!
