There Is No God

Like bugs and birds, trees and fleas,
Cats and rats, fish and flies,
We arrived here, if you please,
From no plan, by chance derived.

We must plan our automobiles,
Assemble them on assembly lines.
We design its gears and wheels
The cars we make start in our minds.

No designer made all things
Like we plan and make our stuff.
From no thought all life springs.
The laws of chance are enough.

There was no plan to create life,
Nothing like we do to design
An automobile on the assembly line.
Unguided chance made mankind!

I decide to try blind chance,
No intelligent designer me!
Will car makings together dance
And by chance a car will be?

By itself a car will form
On a natural assembly line,
With no plan or purpose be born
In time a car that we will find?

We don't take our cars for granted.
We know men and women made them.
Cars are made by parts implanted,
On lines assembled, down to their trim.

Like bugs and birds, trees and fleas,
Cats and rats, fish and flies,
We arrived here, if you please,
From no plan, by chance derived.

This world is much too complex on all levels to have fallen together by chance any more than anything we make comes about that way. There must be a planner, a plan, and production activity following the plan. There is a purposeful plan in all that exists in nature, a plan of a supernatural (i.e.- outside of nature) Designer for whom the evidence of massive creative intelligence is everywhere in everything displayed down to the details.

Even what we consider our own "inventions" are but discoveries of what was possible from the beginning of time with Intelligent creation of our material universe containing the potential for everything that has happened since -- all placed in it to be developed over time (our fourth dimension) by us within the structural limitations of God's natural laws allowing all things to work in an organized manner.

In everything there is reasonable evidence for an intelligent Designer of nature. Everything that exists, man-made and outside of man-made (natural) things DID NOT fall together by chance. If that were true things wouldn't be breaking, --- they would be fixing themselves.

God created us to produce love, which requires the volition of free choice. Why are we here at all? It stands to reason there is a reason for the Colossal Intelligence who made nature (which includes us) to have done it. Jesus said uppermost and foremost, it is all about LOVE.

--Ellis

"Great debate". also a name of one of my poems that touches on two molecular biologists debating evolution/creation based on a radio program I listened to. I also have a prose piece called "Transmission" that applies; This debate never leaves the language of persuasion to get to more language of precision. The conformational bias jams up any meaningful contemplation of process, and rarely is there objective understanding of our limitations. Take 'elbows.' evolutionists see common ancestry in the functional use of elbows. It can easily be the trademark of the same designer reusing a design that works well. When you look at our engineering to handle corners and hinges, especially things like cranes, and look at the streamlined elegant arm carrying a gallon of milk from the fridge, all of the load bearing rigging internal, with such narrow angles... Wow. What an engineer.

Natural selection, adaptability, is self evident. But does not wind back to origins. There is no plausible notions of push "Start" for evolution. The community assumes there is; and refers to nonexistent experts who are working on that thought.

It is entirely possible a creator/engineer would include adaptability into the design. One could posit that such a being, for its own purposes, could adequately conceal itself, reveal itself. And we would never know for certain. Can't know for certain. It is in the realm of faith. Both sides of the argument, are in the realm of faith.

    amazing!

    this was absolutely awesome.

  • very interesting take on perhaps the oldest debate known to man. I am certain you will win many supporters with your point of view. This is something that holds the most passionate of opinions. I love the background you chose to lay this out on. I always appreciate getting someone elses point of view...well done!!

Intelligently written, not too wordy or abrasive, with just right amount of satire for flavor. I read through some of the other comments, and it seems your choice of title was genius in getting people to come read. Regardless what anyone believes about evolution, NO ONE has ever been able to explain exactly where that spark that defines "life" has come from. There is only one possible explanation.

i find very thought provoking.. what i liked the most is the way you deal with this phenomena called god.. at some point in this write you dont beleive in him but at some you do.. at some you presented creation by engeeniering and related it with chance.. so it is lil above an average mind.. to understand more better on needs to ahve an open mind to all possibilities

wel i beleive in god and we are his creations.. he has given us the world to cherish him not exploit it for our deeds and needs..

veyr intresting write.. i enjoyed it

Ellis, Great piece of work;although, in answer to your question; Why are we here at all? As a man of faith; I prefer the lesson I heard from a drill sgt. on the question Why. as follows: Trainee you don`t have a need to know!! I accept God as my lifetime Drill Sgt. and don`t need to know Why.

Wow, this was awesome, I loved it, You did an amazing job ont his piece, and it is true, I mean seriously, Look at everything, how it all fits perfectly together, it's all in Gods plan, and we are created int he image of him, so we make the cars, God makes the us and everything we cant make.

This brings up the ultimate question. If God is the omnipotent all-knowing being, than why is there war and disease?I believe in God and I wonder everyday why he does the things he does.I only have one thing to ask anyone who does not believe in God, those that believe we came from apes or those who believe in the big bang'theory'.If you think we evolved from bobo the chimp, than who created bobo?If you know that the universe evolved, than who created the first atom, or cell, or micro-organism??????It seems pretty simple to me, God did!!

I do love the part where you suggest that we spend more time and effort keeping our cars on the road then keeping a relationship going (or care for other creatures) ... at least that is what i see in this writing and thus only my humble opinion.
I do not believe in a Upper Being and wish not to comment on this. I just enjoyed your writing very much indeed.

Using the second law of thermodynamics is the best illustration that things are not getting better, they are deteriorating. You are so correct in stating that. If chance created everything then it only goes to reason that chance would fix everything. This is a great piece of work and thanks for reading Katcher's pieces he will be excited. He is currently in Indiana where we are moving shortly. I am still here in Knoxville at the moment. I will make sure he checks in to AP tomorrow to reply RC

Wonderful piece ful of insightful and compelling words. Loved this for its directness and for showing that although we consider ourselves intelligent we would be fools to think that everything in this world came together perchance. The odds would be totally astonomical and totally ludicris to try and calculate. Great work, keep your pen forever flowing! bunny

Great job Ellis!! When I was young, I just took evolution as fact because that is pretty much how I remember it being taught. I just don't understand how anyone can by that, it's so arrogant. . . . (disbelief I mean)

YAY!!!!!! Bless you, my friend for sending this message out to the world! A time and a purpose for everything under Heaven.
People, take heed, for this man speaks with intelligence, wisdom and faith.
So very true, Ellis. Everything is too well synchronized for it to just be all by chance. Even the workings of the moon and sun, the continual motion of waves in the ocean. And here's a thought,....if the scientific explanation were true, that we evolved from apes, then why are there still apes, and some have not evolved?
Anyway, thanks for the wonderful message on this page. You lifted my spirits today. Blessings! Susan

Perfecty crafted! The deceiver has done a mighty job but our God is the only Truth. It amazes me that intelligent, logical people cannot see the proof of God's existence right in front of their noses. Well done and I pray that many will read this and see the Truth once and for all. I love the part about why God created us - yes, I agree, it is to love Him and praise Him and be with Him forever - the perfect PLAN of all time!

God bless you my friend. I pray today is finding you healthy and full of joy! - jo
