~~Thunderstorms~~

Missing image
After the
tumultuous
rainstorms,
The peace and
soft fulfillment
of the moist earth
sinking lusciously
between my toes
and the partial returns
of my body
hints at pure bliss
of silence
after the thunderclap
of life~

oooooo what fond memories this brings back! I used to watch thunder storms in the distance from a shelter in my back garden with my Dad. As there was a hugggeee park behind us you could see for miles and witness the beauty of a good storm

    Beautifully expressed Susan.

doesn't it seem as though the world rests after a storm?

    excellent

Oh I so love watching thunderstorms if I am in a safe place . But what was the best part for me in this ....was the afterwords. Up to ths day , after a torrential downpour , I love running outside barefoot and splashing around in the puddles . No wonder hubby thinks I am nuts at times. But every once inawhile that inner child of mine just has to be set free The pic with this was also beautiful. Thx for bringing me a happy memory

Oh this is beautifully succinct, sounds like you do some of the fun things I do. I love being barefoot after a rain myself. Oh I can't believe this but I am actually missing warm weather. It has been a really cold winter in Minnesota this year.

I love this poem; it reminds me of when I was a kid and thunderstorms came up; they were wonderful lightningh flashing and crashing through the sky and sometimes hitting the trees. I only ever remember being scared by lightning one time. That time the lightning was close enough that it gave a bit of a shock. I have a story about that. Maybe, I will post it sometime. I have had enough odd or unusual things happen to me in my life that I plan to write a book about them sometime soon.

picture from tucson? they had some remarkable storms: happened then gone. Thank you for reading mine! the quiet earth is very appealing while the seasons of 'stormy' days in our lives continue, there are always the calm recollections that we can be grateful for. good poem with a lot in it!

A wonderful concept of thunderstorms. Many people are scared of thunderstorms, but you made them "magical". Good word choice, vivid imagery...Well done!

    5/10

This didn't really seem complete to me, It isn't exactly a beginning nor is it an ending, kind of like you just wrote from the middle.

A nice piece for what it is, but, I think it could be more.

Susan you have described a Queensland tropical storm. the build up is intense, the rain feels like a gift and then the smell of the rain and the wet ground is truly magical.
You have written this so beautifully.
