Have I lost your heart?
What am I saying!
I belong to another already!
Why do I grab for your heart?

 

Can there not be simple friendship
between the genders?
Must everything lead to conception?

 

Can there just be understanding and support?

 

It is there between two hearts that any benefit lies
between the genders-
strengthening.

 

but still as perilous as the stormy sea...

    This is so true--- I always wonder if a man and woman can be, very simply, friends, without it ever becoming anything more than that. Thank-you for writing this wonderful poem, and sharing it!
