Hot and Cold

Consider shrinking glaciers,
Melting tundra, drought and flood,
Stronger hurricanes more common,
More fires, then more mud.

Now consider North Korea,
China and Iran
And motley crews of terrorists
Who know no nuclear ban.

Perhaps we should consider,
As our dead we do inter,
That Global Warming is no warning
But preparation for Nuclear Winter.

Author notes

To hear so many politicians, businessmen and religious leaders stick their heads in the sand, denying global warming, while the majority of us over thirty can see the obvious changes in the world's climate, makes me so mad and feel so helpless that I can sometimes not sleep at night.  That and the incredible deficits in the United States budget are mortgaging our childrens' future, the world's future.  By the time we can point our fingers at the guilty parties, they will have lived a life of luxury and power and died without remorse.
