Sailing Dreams

Missing image


Lift your eyes to the heavens
What is it that sails above you?
What encompasses your soul
And lifts your spirits up high?


As you gaze into the beauty of the night sky,
Do you see your dreams flying with the stars?
When you lay your head down to rest your mind,
  Do you dream of the future, of what is yet to come?


Place your dreams into the world that exists above you
Put them among the stars so that all might see their beauty
For those stars is that in which lies deep within your soul
Visualize your dreams coming true, then you will perceive them

    I had you read this to me, and I loved the imagery I had in my head, and the message it sent.. well, the one it did for me anyway. And the pictures are awesome! Man, I wish I had remembered this before! You did get an honorable mention, but I personal thought you should've gotten at least a trophy.. ah well, all up to the judger. Beautiful, dear, I loved it!!

    Those two lines are my favorite part, but I think the whole poem is equally brilliant. The pictures also compliment the poem wonderfully. Excellent poem, Tim, thanks for entering my contest, and good luck!!

    This is a great poem. I absolutely loved it. Especially the second stanza. You did an awesome job with this poem. And I liked the pictures you put up with it. Especially the first picture. This poem gives a lot of hope. Amazing job. Keep up the fantastic work!

    OHHHHHHHHHHHH its like a confuses says moment... sorry. anyway when i read this i think of being in the grass laying there at night and just gazing at the stars .... something i cant seem to do here in the city *sighs* something i would rather like to do. the pictures help with the visualizeation... great work i really love what you do ^_^

    Brilliant work here Sharcu... I'm impressed with this piece and the pictures are awesome! You did a wonderful job lil brother.. I mean it... sometimes I will just lay in the grass outside and stare at the stars... my neighbors must think I'm nuts but I don't care really...

    i am zorak

    i once sailed on a ship. i stood in the crow's nest and hollered 'land ho, yar, land ho' and then i'd slide down the mast and get splinters in my sac, and curse the cap'n in pirate slang and then sometimes i'd bury my rum and drink the treasure instead. instead instead i'm messed up in the head.

    great write. elegant, excellent form and thought-process, and of course.. very poetic.
