The days are long and tiresome,
I think I'm going to faint,
There is no air,
There is no break,
What's a slave to do?
What's a slave to do,
when she has no words?
What's a slave to do,
when her life is gone?
what's a slave to do,
when she can't find air,
what's a slave to do?
Scrubbing, scrubbing,
working, working,
we're on our hands and knees,
there is no air, there is no break.
what's a slave to do?
What's a slave to do,
when she has no words?
What's a slave to do,
when her life is gone?
what's a slave to do,
when she can't find air,
what's a slave to do?
Stumbling around in darkness,
rawing our hands up.
there is no light,
there is no savior,
what's a slave to do?
What's a slave to do,
when she has no words?
What's a slave to do,
when her life is gone?
what's a slave to do,
when she can't find air,
what's a slave to do?
Things are bare,
Things are bitter,
There is no food tonight,
The ships a sinking,
and the water's cold as ice,
what's a slave to do?
What's a slave to do,
when she has no words?
What's a slave to do,
when her life is gone?
what's a slave to do,
when she can't find air,
what's a slave to do?
What's a slave to do,
when she has no words?
What's a slave to do,
when her life is gone?
what's a slave to do,
when she can't find air,
what's a slave to do?

nice and haunting
ever thought of putting music to it?
i've been told that it's a little harder to write music to lyrics than lyrics to music.
kudos on the poem!

excellent
This is great. I loved it. -
This is a song, not a poem and will be well appreciated by the masses. I enjoyed the words and have locked into some kind of melody for it, nice work!
