Noble Glory

© 4-3-06

To fan the flame I’ve placed in you,
I am coming, with My breath;
I call to mind, your mercy due,
To release you from this grievous death;

I hear your cry, and My heart breaks,
I have your tears in My flask;
With My plan in sight, My soul aches,
I will answer all that you ask;

You are Mine, ever will you be,
I wish to bring you to My breast;
I’ve paid for you on the tree,
And have for you all My best;

It is My joy, to bear with you,
The yoke for you that I have made;
I share the burden, lightened for you,
And I will be your gracious aid;

I sing before the angels sweet,
My desire to make you My own story;
To make you realize you’re complete,
For you are My noble glory!

    I believe the two companions were sorrow and comfort.

    I have a copy of that book. I was reading it about once a year, until a few years ago. I was encouraged by that book.

    I should go find it again. Ugh! It's probably buried in some box. I've moved three times in the last seven months.

    Thanks, sis. It's encouraging to know this poem still does things for you. I'm blessed. See?

    Ready, set,...roll!

    I came back today to read this again since I needed a pick-me-up from the Lord. Have you ever read the book Hinds Feet on High Places (by Hannah Hurnard)? This is an allegory...Much Afraid the main character had two companions along the way to the high places. Their names escape me now...but when they all reach the high places they are transformed (via salvation) and given new names. Her companions new names I believe are Grace and Glory. This poem reminded me of that book and how I need to read it again...(I do every year). There is a sequel to it called Mountains of Spices (the continuing story...and about the fruit of the spirit). Small books, you might enjoy them.

    At any rate, don't mean to blab on and on, but I'm so curious what my new name will be! How about you?

    Zephaniah 3:17 is where the idea of being quieted by God's love comes from. It's one of my favorite verses.

    I also wrote a poem specifically on that verse. I'll share it with you when I find it. It's here somewhere, called "Song of the Lord."

    I meant to post this yesterday, your poem is directly related to one of my favorite songs that I was listening to yesterday by Rebecca St. James called "Quiet You." As you can see it is a confirmation of what you've written in this poem for me.

    Here are the lyrics:

    QUIET YOU

    Come to me all who are weary
    And I will give you rest
    Come to me all who are weary
    And I will give you rest

    Lay your head down
    On my shoulders
    Be still my child
    Rest a while

    CHORUS:
    And I’ll quiet you with My love
    Rejoice over You
    With My song
    With My song

    And I’ll quiet you with My love
    Rejoice over You
    With My song
    With My song

    Come to me all who are weary
    And take My yoke upon you
    Come to me all who are weary
    My burden is easy and light

    Lay your head down
    On my shoulders
    Be still my child
    Rest a while

    REPEAT CHORUS

    {Musical Bridge}

    REPEAT CHORUS 2X

    And I’ll quiet you with My love

    Words cannot even begin to describe how I felt when I read this! I can hear these words echoing in the heart as I read them over and over. Tears fill up my eyes as I begin to recount the times that He has told me, you are Mine, you belong to Me! Thank you for being the vessel that brought this much awaited messaged to me on a day that I needed it oh so very much! What a beautiful border you've used as well!! God bless you Bob! You are very dear to me indeed! Noble1
