What Hurts The Most
If I knew it would end this way
I would have never wondered astray,
If I had seen this coming-
Sweetie I would have come running
Just to save you from this pain.
My words are meaningless today
And I'm scared they don't change a thing...
But there's one difference
Between then and now,
I would have saved us somehow.
I'm sorry for the choices I've made,
And never letting you know I truly tried.
But honey I've been suffering
Carrying this guilt with me each day,
And with every tear you cry
I witness another part of me die.
With another moment slipping by
I wonder if we will truly be okay,
Lost in limbo, but our love will continue on...
Until the stars die out
And all life on earth is gone.
Still you'll hold a little piece of my heart,
That will always and forever belong to you.
As new lovers come and go
I pray we'll always fall back
On a love that will remain forever true.
