Nobody loves America anymore

Let's face the truth

nobody loves America anymore

nobody believes in the constitution anymore
nobody want's to serve their country anymore

everybody's only looking out for themselves

instead of justice, we now have frivolous lawsuits
instead of equality, we now have "affirmative action"

our laws have become merely suggestions
our prisons have cable TV.

instead of education, we are dumbing down our schools
to accomidate those who are too undisciplined to study

instead of statesmen, we have crooked politicians
who are only in office so the can pass legislation
that will help them get richer at everyone else's expense

instead of musicians, we have "rap artists"
who chant the mantras of crime, drugs, and abuse of women

instead of women role models  who are educated, talented, repectable
we now idolize whores like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton

instead of teaching our children to be honest, decent, respectful
we now let them do whatever they want, whenever they want

nobody loves America anymore
but they will miss it when it's gone

What we sold our souls and our country for is to idolize physical beauty and a fuck-off-if-there's-nothing-in-it-for-me attitude. I think it started in the post wwii era of the 50's when (not so) coincidentally television made its debut.

Me? I'd rather be shot and buried in the old west and nobody notice than die of old age sitting in an easy chair in front of the tube.

Unless it was very cheap, we couldn't afford it!

Oh BTW, you didn't fight us, you revolted.
    Are all Americans revolting?

Once upon a time Americans loved their country enough to fight England for it, and back then England was pretty powerful. now, they would probably sell it back to England if England wanted it.

I'm not sure about the basic premise here. I've a feeling that life was ever thus, just that we are now older and moe cynical. In the wild west you could have been shot and buried without anyone noticing and that doesn't even count the native Americans dying from smallpox and measles from infected blankets. Good poem, though. vic

I completely agree. It's quite sad, but hopefully before it's too late things will change. I truly believe, or so I hope, that one day the ones who have a whole brain left will be able to come together and make some change... for the better.

Thanks for sharing this with us all.

It's already gone, and has been for some time! I like the way you presented this... blunt and stright to the point. I believe in everything you are preaching, but preaching won't change the sheep... they like ti just the way it is: unfair, unjust, corrupt, money hungry, self-centered, lazy, and unforgiving. What a place to call home, huh?

    two thumbs up

wow... I'm not American but I can tell, that this situation is also present in other countries. Then there's the dilemma, yourself or you're country?

This is soo true! I agree with you all the way. The ending of it though, I have to say, 'America' has been gone for a long time...Freedom? Maybe in some ways, but America is quite sad now these days...and our president, don't get me started with his bad choices...
Anyway, amazing job and keep it up

Amen! I completely agree. It is getting way out of hand. I'm so happy you wrote about this. It needs to be sad for sure. I really wish everyone had more respect, I wish they would realize this world does not revolve around them. Being conceited never helped anyone. I love you're thought process. You're beautiful!!!
