A Different War

I hear the booms again tonight
And wonder, if my time has come
Will I see tomorrow
Will a new day dawn

Will I have to shed a tear
For a friend that I have lost
Or will they shed a tear for me
If I had to pay the cost

I'm proud of what I've done here
And would do it all again
For a soldier's job is never done
It's just a different war, a different sin

And wonder if my time has come
