Nan, why did you leave us?
Why did you have to go?
Why God decided to take you,
I guess we’ll never know.
There is one thing we think of,
Deep within our mind.
Did he want you ‘coz you’re friendly?
Generous and kind?
The love you gave to all of us,
We never will forget.
The memories of happy times,
We will not let go yet.
The laughter, smiles, tears of joy,
The hurt, the pain you shared.
You tried to take it from all of us,
To let us know you cared.
If ever we were lonely,
Down or feeling blue,
We sometimes came to granddad,
Or more often came to you.
Nan, why did you leave us?
Why did you have to go?
The next time that we see you,
Finally we’ll know.
