Ocean Slumber

It’s midnight and the world is silent
There’s not a sound for miles around
We snuggle together here on the beach
And listen to the tide as it moves up and down

As we look into each other’s eyes
I hope that somehow you can see
All of the love that I have kept inside for you
And that you mean the world to me

As I hold you in my arms
We tenderly embrace and kiss the night away
While the stars in the sky shine over us
I hope that in my life you will forever stay

I have waited for this moment for so long
When it would just be you and I together
I have wanted you from the moment I saw you
No one else could ever bring me such pleasure

Your eyes are so beautiful
As blue as the giant sea
I am so proud to call you my own
You are my destiny

I would walk the world to be with you
I would sacrifice each and every day
Just as long as I know that you are there
I would surely find a way

I would never want to say good-bye to you
Or be without your love
For without you here I am nothing
It would be so difficult for me to rise above

I want you to know that I love you
My heart yearns for you every day
I’ll never do anything to hurt you
Please believe me when I say

That you will always be first in my heart
Until the end of time
And if you should ever need me
I’ll never be too far behind

You are the only one for me
My every dream has come true
I will love you for the rest of my life
And I hope that you feel the same way too

Hey, beautiful write you got here; the person this piece is dedicated to seems very lucky, indeed ^^
I admire the lines penned here with simplicity and how it has that tone where the reader can feel the indescribable reasons on loving the person
In my opinion, few parts here and there were a bit cliche but hey, you incorporated them to make this write beautiful after all
The eight line should be meant- just wanted to point it out . . .
. . . other than that, this is definitely a beautiful, caring and moving piece for this person

    imagery good but content shallow

Well...I hate to say it, but it seemed a bit....*cringes* Shallow to me. Sorry, ah so very sorry, but there just seemed to be no depth to this poem other than that of physical attraction. There seems to be no character, nothing of lasting impact or influence.
Now- the good stuff: Your imagery was GREAT!! You paint a picture of the ocean and moonlight wonderfully. A scene of serentity and peace. In that you are well deserved.

Feel like I've had a romantic interlude at the seaside. Your poem is most evocative. Great frame too.

Awe, that was a wonderful thing that you said. I am glad that you liked this. I wrote this about a year ago while I was at the beach. I remember looking up at the sky, there wasn't a cloud in sight. Just the full moon and a gorgeous canvas of stars. Anyway, I am very grateful for your thoughts on this. Take care!
