Night Hope

How could you know everything?

I tremble as I watch
my morning silence
spin
in clouds of circles
around your distant
fingertips.

If this page of endings
shows the stain of
tears,

it is only to make
invisible words
of love appear,

because I am weary
from a world wanting
less
than I can give.

Every melting shakes reason
with another
disillusioned
emotion,

as my senses breathe

the weight of
endless forgotten wishes,
mindless vapor
aching to remember you,

and endless possibility,

All I can do is to let go,

and let love smile
from a distance.

In your poems, art sighs and dances everything.

Alive, gestation pulses
on the womb of forever's miracle.

I have felt it in my
deepest
star field.

Even, if the touch of love
is but a memory,
your silver,
breathless etchings of
ice flowers
create a winter mirror of
breathlessness,

and the dream of springtime fingers
strumming on my dancing skin.

In satin silence,
echoed stillness
patiently
listens for my
hidden
word feathers,

as yet another snow swirls...

laughing flowers

remember.

What the nominator thinks - I love many poems by many people. Nicolette inspires me constantly & consistently. I wrote a reply to this piece of hers that was published in my book. It moves me deeply. We both love Pablo Neruda's works. Rich is an incredible writer, as well. Yes, he wrote this one for me, but it's a wonderful piece even without that added bonus. He is a nature writer reminiscent of Frost & Thoreau. It was the start of a beautiful friendship that caused us both to write more than 70 poems each in a month's time. He collaborates with No deliverance, Hana, on some amazing His & Hers poems. It was difficult to choose just one from Nic & Rich, let alone from the vast storehouse of brlliant writers I know. Some of 'em keep deleting the best ones, too. I've been here two years as of June. I spent a long time searching for & cultivating relationships with some of AP's best & brightest. I'd like to refer you to just some of the Poets I feel have made more than a significant impact on my writing & on my life: Nicolette, kaibab, shewolfnative, zayra yves, Lyrical Soul, MuddyKing, Just Rob, Individuality, grm, cvillelisa, transcendental baby, Mary Cat, NurseChilly, Oisin, Mad Moon, AlmostMe, concrete sky, Dantes Inferno, wbiro, Wildequill, suseann, jaunty pill, Presence, Redstormy, A Prophet of 3, Whispered Love, Scott Adelmann, Silver Sionnach, ecrivain01, Danna Hobart, Rowan, Natari Moon...sighhh...Even more...These are just off the top of my head; I have a list that I posted as a "poem", since I have nearly 300 Poets on it...the AP system only runs efficiently with 50...{more power!!!} This will get you started on those dreadfully slow nights when the poems & Poets are far too young & bloody... - Like Rich, I understand far too well the feeling of being weary from a world wanting less than I can give.

Congratulations! This poem was nominated as one of the two best poems on this site for a favourites comp run by D P Robertson. You were nominated by Night Hope

There is always something a little unnerving having to comment on a piece written by someone, for someone who is the same someone who is nominating a piece about themselves as one of the best pieces on AP. Someone is going to get hurt if the review is not absolutely sparkling aren’t they? Well, this was nice…okay it was better than nice and indeed it was way better than I thought it might be. But I really figured it might be by the people Night Hope says she associate with on this site although mentioning ecrivain01 & Rowan reminded me of the sight of those pair of desiccated tits in “Something About Mary” … Oooof. First chink in the armour, Ted. This poem however is lovely, it is structured well and vivid images hang effortless off it is easy praise and affection. Nice work.

I knew you'd love Rich's writing, my luminous Friend...Isn't this completely beautiful??? You should read the others he's written for me since then...we've inspired each other to write about 50 poems, I think... They are all magnificent, in their own realms...& Pres??? I love you, too, my Friend...Thanks for comin' by & gracin' the page with your lovely words...Methinks you'll both have much to discuss, being the wondrously spiritual Souls that you are...& you do have some things in common, after all...You both seem to like me a lil' 'round the edges... Like watching flower petals caught by the wind and dancing in circles across the corner of the terrace - I stand in awe and wonder at the coalescing images appearing from Your words... here, Poet, You bring me to a whisper stop... at first my eyes are wide in astonished appreciation, but then they close - and with a smile I hear the wondrous score below your symphony... I am elated to hear such beautiful music played for such a wondrous Soul.

I so echo those words... and to see it written by someone else in such a beautiful poem, makes me smile...! I am not sure if this poem is about our friend Night Hope (Wanda - I call her "Vlindertjie", which is Afrikaans for "little butterfly"), but if it is, then you have just made her day! She'll be the laughing flower that will remember this tribute always. Nothing is as strong as a gentle touch...

what a beautiful tribute to a beautiful lady. Everyone that reads the way she writes can not help but feel all that you have said in this.......she touches every soul with her gentleness, and I can see her smile as she reads this. Great job and best of luck in this contest....I loved the line "laughing flowers remember". I guess if we will remember the flowers we can laugh as well
